Boyfriend Material (Ethan and Wyatt #2) by K.A. Mitchell (4 Stars)

Wyatt and Ethan are still at the fragile stages of their relationship where doubt and secrets can wreak havoc.

This story picks up shortly after the first one, and they definitely need to be read in order. In the last story, I enjoyed Ethan’s cheerful voice. In this story, we hear from Wyatt, and it’s a much more somber feeling. I adored Wyatt and wanted him and Ethan to work out. They are both good guys and seem to care for each other. They enjoy each other’s company and fill a need that each of them have. Ethan seems to enjoy taking care of people. Although Wyatt is more than capable of taking care of almost all of himself, he can certainly use some tender loving care for his heart. Wyatt also enjoys the happiness that Ethan seems to carry with him all of the time.

Although they’ve only been dating a few weeks, Ethan wants to take Wyatt home to meet his parents for the holidays. However, Wyatt has also been invited to spend time with his uncle, the same person that is helping him out with college. Separate vacations make them realize how much they really care for each other. Unfortunately, with Wyatt’s past coming back to haunt him, they are forced to keep working through trouble spots in their relationship. The only thing that keeps getting better is the time they spend in each other’s arms. A significant amount of time is spent with the two of them exploring each other’s bodies.

It was hard to see these two struggle with their relationship because of outside influences. Even though Wyatt had a rough life, he has certainly tried hard to make the most of his future. I just wanted to reach through the pages and give him a hug. Ethan tries so hard to convince Wyatt that his past shouldn’t interfere with his future.

Ethan and Wyatt continue to explore their love for each other while we wait for the third story in this enjoyable romance.

Donavan Gregory is tall, built, and struggling to find somebody who can understand his need to submit. Seth Manning is smart, confident, and looking for somebody willing to submit to him in the bedroom. The attraction between these two was instant, but building a lasting relationship will take a bit longer.

Donavan is self-conscious about his lack of money and a college degree. He’s concerned that Seth’s physical attraction to him will eventually wear off. He’s also never been in a relationship before, and he’s worried about how quickly he’s falling for Seth. However, Seth is a smart doctor, and he realizes how amazing Donavan is and has no intention of letting him go. Although Seth comes from money, he worked very hard to become a doctor. He appreciates that Donavan works hard regardless of the type of work Donavan does. He just has to convince Donavan of this fact.

Donavan’s insecurity added a little bit of anxiety to the relationship, but it never created any serious drama. The majority of the time, we were treated to some erotic fun at the club and in Seth’s home and playroom. The submission was limited to their sexual interactions, and included bondage, spanking, and flogging. It was sweet to watch these two enjoy each other’s company on dates and with family and friends. Donavan’s friend, Cain, played a fun role in the story, and I hope we get a chance to see him find happiness.

A sweet story about two people finding a connection without regard to physical attributes or financial status.

Ethan followed Blake by attending the same college only to find that their relationship has ended. In the hopes of figuring out how to get him back, Ethan befriends Blake’s roommate, Wyatt. The only problem is that Wyatt has developed a crush on Ethan.

Wyatt Reese has Waardenburg Syndrome which has caused him to have some hearing loss and two different colored eyes. He had just enough differences from the other kids when growing up to make him feel like an outsider. This also caused him to start hanging out with the wrong crowd which lead to him getting in serious trouble. He’s trying to take advantage of this second chance by putting his past behind him and working hard in school. Unfortunately, a lifetime of being treated like an outcast has caused him to suffer from low self-esteem. Ethan has to work hard to convince Wyatt that he’s not just a rebound boyfriend, but instead somebody he truly cares about.

Ethan and Wyatt make a cute couple. With their opposite backgrounds but similar interests, they seem to really enjoy each other’s company. As they work through their new potential relationship, there are several ups and downs. One constant positive is that they certainly enjoy each other’s bodies. A good portion of the story is spent with the two of them exploring kissing, sex, and everything in between. Ethan’s new friends also provided for interesting entertainment. This first story in the series is told completely from Ethan’s point of view. Ethan has a great outlook on life and was a lot of fun to listen to.

Young love has its ups and downs, but Ethan and Wyatt are working hard to win each other’s hearts.

Aidan and Jesse have not lived easy lives, especially after they both suffered significantly at the hand of kidnappers. They have become extremely close after working together for several years, but they haven’t moved past the friendship stage. Jesse is hospitalized after being attacked by his kidnapper, and Aidan realizes just how much he depends on Jesse for his own emotional stability. These two have a lot to overcome, but they both know it will be worth it in the end.

It was heartbreaking hearing what these two people went through during their lives, and I was brought to tears several times during the story. I loved the slow pacing and the length of time that it covered. It made every moment, every kiss, between these two more believable and emotional.

Quite a bit of the story revolves around the task force that Aidan serves on and the crimes that they are working on. I’m not a big fan of crime stories, but I liked the way the task members interacted with each. I could easily see several stories letting us get to know more about these guys.

The only reason I can see this book as part of the Men of Halfway House series is that some of the characters are related. Although it can be read as a stand-alone, every book in this series is amazing and well worth reading.
