A single sexy scene between Jake and Danny that takes place in an office supply closet. As usual, with just a few carefully placed comments, the author manages to share so much about the emotional connection between these two.

Heart Knot Mine by Lily Velden (5 Stars)
Noah finds out in a very unique way that he is gay. As he and Robert develop a friendship across the world, while living in each other’s homes, Noah also begins to falls in love with Robert. Although a bit slow to start, with a tad too much descriptive details of items that held no interest to me, the connection I eventually developed with Noah and Robert was very deep. The majority of the story is Noah telling us everything as opposed to us being a part of watching it happening. While this usually doesn’t work for me, it’s hard to argue with the results.
Once hooked, I couldn’t put the book down except to dab my eyes. I became emotionally invested in everything that happened to Noah and Robert. There are a lot of masturbation and voyeurism scenes in the story when the two aren’t together, and several steamy sex scenes once they hook up. The story builds up to some moments that are heart wrenchingly beautiful and poetic.

Damian’s Discipline (Collars and Cuffs #5) by K.C. Wells and Parker Williams (4 Stars)
An interesting look at a very light version of domestic discipline being used to bring structure to Jeff’s life after he was physically and mentally abused. It was really hard to read about Jeff’s abuse. It was also sad to read about the loss of Damian’s sub. The story takes place over several months giving the characters the time they needed to heal from their past and begin to fall in love with each other. Since all of their dialogue seemed to center around helping Jeff get some structure in his life, I had a hard time believing that they were truly in love. Instead, it seemed like they fell in love with the roles each of them was playing in the other’s life.
Although it’s not necessary to read the other books in this series, several of the characters from the earlier books kept popping in.
Drift (Turbulence #2) by Lyn Gala (5 Stars)
A continuation of an amazing romantic sci-fi series, this story had all of the elements I love reading about.
I would highly suggest reading Turbulence, the first book in the series, before DRIFT. Turbulence was an outstanding story, and the plot continues into DRIFT, but with different characters as the main focus. Fortunately, we do get to see Zeke and Jacqs again, which thrilled me to no end. There aren’t any spoilers in my review of the plot so it will be a bit vague.
Allie and Shank Lacroix have been involved for quite some time, but they’re about to take their relationship to the next level. Allie is a very strong person as evidenced by the mission she’s about to undertake. She likes to be a part of the action and help out where she can. The only little issue I had with the story was that it didn’t give me Shank’s point of view. It seemed like he had lived an extremely interesting life as part of a large pirate family, and his thoughts and background would have been fascinating. There was still enough information provided to make me fall in love with him and know that Allie would admit she was doing the same. Allie seemed to be in love with him from the beginning, but she was afraid of losing him due to everything going on in the universe. I really enjoyed the dynamics of these two together.
Allie’s interactions with Shank’s mom and his former girlfriend were fascinating. The detailed dialogue provided put me right in the room with them. The plot was filled with exciting action, including visits with the different government factions, stealing a ship, and struggling to figure out their future. The sex was steamy, and included bondage to the point of immobility. The science fiction aspect was interesting and easy to follow.
I loved this journey through space with several highly engaging characters.
