Blah Blah Valentine’s Day by Kyle Adams (5 Stars)

Adorable Valentine’s Day story about an endearing young man, Andrew, who has several good reasons to not like this day. Andrew tries very hard to avoid being with anybody during this cursed event, mostly due to his concern of infecting them with his bad luck. Fortunately, his best friend drags him to a party where he meets Evan. The sparks and the humor fly, and I was smiling the whole time. Evan was perfect for Andrew, and showed him a different perspective on luck and life. I really enjoyed this engaging and romantic treat!

Inseparable by Chris Scully (4 Stars)

Very sweet story about two lifelong friends trying to decide if they are brave enough to move their relationship to the next level. I enjoyed watching Adam and Joe interact while Adam worked to get his memory back. The addition of Joe’s family added some light humor.

Caught (The Shamwell Tales #1) by JL Merrow (3.5 Stars)

Told from Robert’s POV, he just wasn’t interesting enough to make me want to spend that much time watching him live his life. Sean seemed to have more going on in his life, and his job in pest control could have made for some really fun stories, but that didn’t happen much. I was never convinced of the romance between the two of them. They broke up and got back together several times which did nothing to convince me that they would stay together. As Robert’s best friend, Rose was a tad over-the-top, but at least she provided some comedic relief.

Improves with Age by Lavinia Lewis (3 Stars)

A widower’s second chance with a new love.

Reece Watkins lost the love of his life to a heart attack. He moves back to his old home to try to reduce his stress, and he runs into an old schoolmate, Nick Kenison. The sparks fly, and Reece must decide if he’s ready to take a second shot at love.

The two meet when Reece’s roof develops a leak, and he hires Nick to fix it. After having sex within minutes of seeing each other again, the two of them spend quite a bit of time together while Nick very slowly takes care of the house. I liked how they spent some time together, and that they were both really nice characters. I also enjoyed seeing two older characters get another chance at love. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough of an emotional connection to either of the characters.

This was a sweet romance between two mature men with very little angst.
