Havoc by Linda Gayle (5 Stars)

Riveting, romantic character driven intergalactic love story with three amazing characters in a fight to save themselves and humanity.

Kels Nero Havoc, captain of the Ash Nova, is trying to get said ship back. His first mate and best friend, Elion Ingemar Andervaars, is unsuccessfully trying to help him. Along comes Sayal Iluma, a stranger with a proposition. If she helps them win their ship back, will they take her to the Zone? Thus begins the mystery of unravelling who Sayal really is and her reasons for desperately wanting to go to the Zone.

All three of these characters bring their point of view to the story which allowed us to get to really know each of them. Kels was a solid leader with high morals, an innate kindness, and a charming sexually charged personality. Elion has been in love with Kels, along with having a bit of hero worship, ever since Kels saved his life. Raised in the military, Elion is kind, quiet, and strong. He knows he wants Kels as more than a friend, but isn’t sure how to get him. Sayal is also a strong character, both in her abilities and in her desire to accomplish her main objective.

As they work toward their goal of getting Sayal to the Zone, the three of them begin to fall in love, both separately and as a triad. It was perfect that they spent time alone with each other before finally coming together as a team.

The plot was exciting, including participating in the sex games, winning their ship back and their travels to the Zone. The story was dynamic, weaving together several ideas throughout the tale to bring us to our conclusion. There were also some interesting concepts presented about the beginning of life on earth and why we’re here.

An amazing story where every action, every sex scene, and every conversation helped to move the plot, the romance, and the relationships along. The love story was beautiful, and the action-packed, science fiction-based plot was exciting and interesting. I would love to see more stories take place in this world the author built.

Masochist’s Choice (Sun, Sea, and Submission #5) by Kim Dare (4.5 Stars)

I loved watching Todd and Ash start to learn a bit about masochism. It was interesting getting Ash’s POV about being paddled, which he clearly despised, and Todd’s POV, who definitely enjoyed it. I also liked how Todd stood up for himself about what he wanted out of life.  The only thing that didn’t work for me was how Ash talked about Todd like a prized possession instead of somebody he cared about. His actions made it clear, but I wish his words and thoughts would have too.

Second Hand (Tucker Springs #2) by Heidi Cullinan & Marie Sexton (5 Stars)

Sweet but clueless, Paul Hannon never felt like he came first for anybody. Can El Rozal, a man that knows all about second hand things but nothing about relationships, convince Paul that he’s first for him?

Paul is stuck in a new town with a rental home he can barely afford after being dumped by Stacey, his ex-fiancée. He’s in a job that is one step below where he really wants to be. His house is full of stuff that he couldn’t afford to buy in the first place, but did it to make Stacey happy. He has the brilliant idea to get rid of his stuff at the local pawn shop where he meets El, the owner. El is immediately smitten with Paul, and finds ways to make sure that they can spend time together. The story focuses on the development of their relationship while dealing with the ex-fiancee and family issues.

I loved this story! I enjoyed the new-friends-to-lover theme with El and Paul spending a lot of time together just hanging out before it turns into something more. Paul is pretty gullible in so many ways, but he’s so sweet that you just want to protect him. El, who doesn’t believe in relationships, truly enjoys being with Paul and genuinely cares for him. They spend quite a bit of time “dating” which I always find very romantic. Paul’s acceptance of his desire for El was very realistic especially given his long-term relationship with Stacey. Once they pass the point of friendship, the sex was extremely erotic and steamy!! Although characters from the other Tucker Springs series appear in this story, it isn’t necessary to read them in order. I’ve enjoyed all of the ones I’ve read so far!

Perfect Trouble by Barbara Elsborg (4 Stars)

Sometimes it’s worth hooking up with trouble when it comes in a delicious package.

Jinx Weston has been on the run since she was twelve, and after attending her mother’s funeral, she finally understands the true danger she was in all of her life. Jonah has been causing trouble his entire life, but he’s willing to make a change if it means keeping Jinx by his side. But first, they have to survive.

Jinx and Jonah were both sweet, funny and strong characters that I adored. As we watched these two get captured and then escape from the bad wolf pack multiple times, we got to see Jinx and Jonah work and play well together. The plot focuses on Jonah trying to bring Jinx back to his office at Paranormal Resolution, but we aren’t told why, which made it a bit of a mystery.

There was also quite a bit of enjoyable steam to this one. I liked that the story was filled with wolves, vampires, faeries, and other creatures. As the plot started to wrap up nicely, I was quickly flipping the pages to see how everything would turn out. The world the author was creating in this story had a lot of future potential, and I really hope this becomes the beginning of a new series.

I really enjoyed this fast-paced, sexy paranormal romance with enjoyable characters in an interesting world.
