Call Me Sir, Boy! (I Blame Bret #1) by Kim Dare (4 Stars)

Ricky hooks up with a master online and is meeting him at the club. Lucky for Ricky, his friend Bret saves him from meeting the online jerk and instead introduces him to Jack. I liked getting both of their POV’s and enjoyed getting to know both characters. Steamy sex scene included bondage.

Butterfly Hunter (Butterfly Hunter #1) by Julie Bozza (3 Stars)

I enjoyed watching Dave take Nicholas on a search for a special butterfly, and I loved the descriptions of the land and the butterflies. Unfortunately, I assumed it would serve as the backdrop for the development of a romantic relationship, but instead it was the stronger focus for the entire story.  I still don’t understand their romance, since I never saw the two of them really get to know each other. The entire story is told from David’s point of view, and yet I still barely feel like I know him.  I couldn’t tell you what happened between him and Denise, the former love of his life, even though they are still best friends.  Several parts of the story felt this way. We were told something happened, but not exactly what happened or why it happened. Nicholas has an issue, but more than half the book passes before we find out what it is, and during that entire time, Nicholas plays this elusive character who barely shares anything about himself. The epilogue was sweet, and those who really enjoyed this story will definitely want to read the sequel, Of Dreams and Ceremonies.

The Touch of Hope by Brandon Shire (4 Stars)

Heart wrenching look at life on the street for two young men. The author brought to life the details of being homeless. Although depressing, there was a bit of hope as they started to find ways to get back on their feet. While I enjoyed the author’s voice, I struggled a little with this story. I felt it should have been longer or focused on fewer issues.  I wanted to know more about both of the characters, their backgrounds, and how they planned on moving forward together. I could easily see this turned into a full novel.  Includes sex with a minor and drug use.

Where He Ends and I Begin (Home #3) by Cardeno C. (5 Stars)

I absolutely adored this sweet and extremely steamy romance with lifelong best friends turning into lovers. The plot focused around getting Jake and Nate to realize that they should take their relationship to the next level. Jake has a strong, gruff personality with everybody except Nate. He treats Nate like the treasure that he is. Nate is just a sweet gentle guy except when protecting Jake. These two are the definition of soul mates, and I loved how their feelings for each other were never in question. They absolutely adored each other, and it came through in all of their actions throughout their lives. I loved the flashbacks which helped us get to know them even better. They were always trying to protect each other and help the other one be successful.  The chapters switched between their points of view allowing me to really feel like I got in their minds and truly understood why they said and did everything. There were even a few scenes that had me tearing up with happiness.
