Confessions of a Gay Rugby Player (#1) by Patrick Darcy (3.5 Stars)

Pure erotica, the story focuses on the sexual escapades that take place in one evening after a major competition. Lots of sexual interactions with multiple people, but don’t look for the condoms. There are none to be found in this story. Down and dirty, it’s not painted pretty or romantic.

Cat Scratch Fever by Jane Davitt (3.5 Stars)

Cute little romance with a human, a slightly magical elf, and a cat who is turned into a human. It includes some light humor, hot sex, and working through some relationship issues. It bothered me that Simon got so upset when Garin used his magic, until I found out why. After that point, it became a little sweeter. It would have worked even better if there hadn’t been so much happening or if the story had been longer. There were underlying problems with the relationship that I felt needed to be resolved.

Going Up by Amy Lane (3.5 Stars)

This was a nice story, but I think it would have worked better if we were given Sean’s POV.  Zach was a bit boring. It was also hard to believe that Zach spent the majority of his life fighting for people’s rights, but managed not to have any friends.  There wasn’t much dialogue or relationship building taking place. Their meetings in the elevator started out cute, but then got weary. The highlight of the story was Zach’s secretary, Leah. There was also the treat of seeing Jace and Quent from one of my favorite Lane stories, Gambling Men.
