Mating Balance (Love’s Landscapes) by Gina A. Rogers and Kyle Adams (4 Stars)

Troy was a shifter who was on the verge of suicide after spending years unsuccessfully searching for his mate. The beginning of the story, is told by a very depressing Troy, explaining the downfall of his family. Seth was an extremely jubilant person who enjoys every moment life has to offer. His narration focused on the beauty of the world. Troy and Seth formed an interesting pair. I enjoyed watching the two of them together as they slowly moved their relationship forward, and Seth was able to make Troy smile.

Love at First Sight (Home #4) by Cardeno C. (4 Stars)

Can you really recognize your true love at first sight?

Johnathan Doyle is a very lonely young man. Although he is loved by his family, he doesn’t really have any true friends. He got his only real friend pregnant after one mistaken night with her and kept his son after she left town. A chance encounter has him hooked on a blue-eyed man, David, that he saw but never met. However, he’s convinced they are meant to be together and spends several years looking for David. After finally finding David, they begin a whirlwind romance. If David can handle Johnathan’s secrets, they might just get their happy ending.

Johnathan seemed a little odd, but he was a very nice person down to the bottom of his soul. It was hard to understand why he would feel so alone in the world. David is charming, wealthy and shocked that he has fallen so hard for Johnathan. Although David has a lot of friends, he’s never been in a relationship that really meant anything to him.

It was nice seeing the characters from the other stories in this series hang out together, especially when they discussed David’s love life. This was a very low angst story with lots of steamy sex, romantic dates, and some nice dialog. These two really care for each other and don’t play games. I’m not a fan of children in erotic romance stories, but Johnathan’s son, Sam, was so adorable, and he actually brought some great moments to the story.

I was tearing up at the end with happy feelings. There were a few minor issues with the story. The sex was a bit excessive, especially toward the end, and it felt like it was just one scene after another. It was also a bit bothersome that David constantly referred to Johnathan as smaller and younger, treating him almost like a child.

Overall, I really enjoyed this beautiful romance between two sexy and kind people who both proved that love can happen at first sight.

The Lord’s Lover (Regency Triad #1) by Jenna Rose Ellis (4 Stars)

Best friends to forbidden lovers during a time when one man loving another could result in their death, but not being together might not be a life worth living.

Marcus Weston is an Earl currently living under his father’s control until he eventually becomes the Marquess of Huntington. His dearest friend, Horace (Race) Bates, is the housekeeper’s son. Race’s station alone should prevent them from becoming best friends, but it doesn’t. Instead, they grow up together and know almost everything about one another, except how they both truly feel.

The majority of the story revolves around the two men both trying to accept their feelings for each other while trying to decide if they should risk baring their souls to one another. It was great getting both of their perspectives, feeling their doubts, and hoping they would see the light. I really enjoyed watching the two of them work through their feelings while hearing their thoughts. There was a beautiful steamy scene between the young lovers. Marcus’s father was a tyrant which added some additional drama to the story. There was also one minor bloody scene which was a bit disturbing to read.

This is the first in the series, and while I felt I got my HEA, I’m also really looking forward to the next story to see their saga continue.

Perfect Trouble by Barbara Elsborg (4 Stars)

Sometimes it’s worth hooking up with trouble when it comes in a delicious package.

Jinx Weston has been on the run since she was twelve, and after attending her mother’s funeral, she finally understands the true danger she was in all of her life. Jonah has been causing trouble his entire life, but he’s willing to make a change if it means keeping Jinx by his side. But first, they have to survive.

Jinx and Jonah were both sweet, funny and strong characters that I adored. As we watched these two get captured and then escape from the bad wolf pack multiple times, we got to see Jinx and Jonah work and play well together. The plot focuses on Jonah trying to bring Jinx back to his office at Paranormal Resolution, but we aren’t told why, which made it a bit of a mystery.

There was also quite a bit of enjoyable steam to this one. I liked that the story was filled with wolves, vampires, faeries, and other creatures. As the plot started to wrap up nicely, I was quickly flipping the pages to see how everything would turn out. The world the author was creating in this story had a lot of future potential, and I really hope this becomes the beginning of a new series.

I really enjoyed this fast-paced, sexy paranormal romance with enjoyable characters in an interesting world.
