Blue Mountain (Pack #1) by Cardeno C. (5 Stars)

True love is always worth the wait.

I absolutely loved Mitch and Simon. Simon was such a sweet guy, but he had such a heart-breaking existence before Mitch found him. The author did a great job keeping this relatively angst-free while still giving you a good understanding of Simon’s sad and lonely life. Mitch was an extremely gruff alpha, to the point that most of the pack was wary of him. However, when it came to the mate he thought he would never find, he’s as tender and patient as they get. It was unbelievably romantic watching Mitch court Simon. Of course, once they finally make the full connection with each other, there is plenty of steamy sex.

I loved the pack setting, and really enjoyed Mitch’s brother, Freddy, who added some interesting dynamics to the story.

One of my favorite authors writing one of my favorite genres!

Exiled by his pack as a teen, Omega wolf Simon Moorehead learns to bury his gentle nature in the interest of survival. When a hulking, rough-faced Alpha catches Simon on pack territory, he tries to escape what he’s sure will be imminent death. But instead of killing him, the Alpha takes Simon home.

A man of action, Mitch Grant uproots his life to support his brother in leading the Blue Mountain pack. Mitch lives on the periphery, quietly protecting everyone, but always alone. A mate is a dream come true for Mitch, and he won’t let little things like Simon’s rejections, attacks, and insults get in their way. With patience, seduction, and genuine care, Mitch will ride out the storm while Simon slays his own ghosts and Mitch’s loneliness.

  1. You keep reviewing books by this author and I feel so bad that I postpone it to no end! I only have “Mates” series on my list (scheduled for November which is a good thing, I’ll be swamped with homework tillthe beginning of October anyhow..). This also sounds really good but little by little, right? 🙂

    • Cardeno is definitely one of my favorite authors. I hope you get a chance to check out Mates. I think it’s hard when you’re still in school. You usually already have so much to read that it’s hard to read for fun.

      • Yeah, i”m quite lucky that English isn’t a problem for me, the course I’m doing is basically on the ability to comprehend and analyze academic texts in English so while others are struggling with the language or with time management I just trust myself to read as much as I need to understand which is really cool. But because it’s all very intense and there are many assignments I’m just too tired to read when I go to sleep.. The course will end soon so I’ll be happy to return to my regular routine..
